FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SESAC, the nation's most progressive performing rights organization, announces the promotion of Cappriccieo Scates to the position of Senior Director, Writer/Publisher Relations. Scates, who heads SESAC's Atlanta office, will continue to recruit songwriters and publishers in all musical genres as well as maintaining relationships with current affiliates.
Scates was most recently SESAC's Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, where he was responsible for signing a number of significant writers including current SESAC Songwriter of the Year, Rico Love. Scates also helped broaden the scope of a PRO's traditional role for affiliates by establishing the educational lecture series "Tempo Tuesdays," featuring speakers from various aspects of business.
"I am delighted to announce the well-deserved promotion of Cappriccieo Scates," said Trevor Gale, Senior Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations. "Atlanta is a diverse and important city boasting a wide spectrum of musical styles and Cappriccieo has done an exemplary job in helping to establish SESAC's strong presence in this vibrant city. We look forward to Cappriccieo's participation in SESAC's continued growth."
Prior to joining SESAC, Scates enjoyed a successful career in artist management, promotions and publishing working with artists such as Juvenile, New Edition, BlackStreet, Sounds of Blackness and Erykah Badu among many others. Just prior to joining SESAC, Scates held the position of Director Operations for PM Music Group Inc., and is the author of the book "10 Steps To Successfully Managing Recording Artists".
Scates holds an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Criminology/Sociology from St. Leo University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Averett University.
